Gloucestershire Wedding Videographer
I create natural, cinematic wedding films across Gloucestershire, from Cotswold barns and country houses to celebrations in the Forest of Dean and along the River Wye. The approach stays personal and unobtrusive, supported by the preparation and judgement I've developed across international commercial productions.
A County I Know Through Real Weddings
Gloucestershire covers a lot of different ground, and the weddings on this page reflect that: Stone Barn and Cripps Barn in the Cotswolds, Eastington Park near Stonehouse, Clearwell Castle and the River Wye in the Forest of Dean, a marquee on family land in Awre and Newnham-on-Severn, and Naas Court Farm near Lydney. The Forest of Dean is where I started filming weddings; the rest of the county has followed from there.
Filming across such contrasting settings helps in practical ways: planning travel between locations, understanding rural wedding logistics, working across separate preparation, ceremony and reception spaces, and adapting to how different venues actually move through a day. That's less about knowing any one place inside out and more about recognising the shape a Gloucestershire wedding day tends to take, wherever in the county it happens.

An 18th-century barn in the Coln Valley, filmed twice: Faye & Niall's Extended Highlights film and Sam & Tabs' Highlights film.
Eastington Park
A Georgian manor house near Stonehouse. I've filmed at Eastington Park three times, two of which are published here: Gillian & Adam's film and Susie & Jon's film. Returning to the same venue means less time working out how the space moves, and more attention on the people in it.
Clearwell Castle
A Gothic-style castle in the Forest of Dean, filmed as Deano & Lou's Highlights Film. More on the area on the Forest of Dean page.
Royal Lodge, River Wye
A riverside setting where the water does much of the visual work, and the setting for Dave & Stephanie's Highlights Film.
Awre and Newnham-on-Severn
Dan and Georgina's ceremony took place at St Peter's Church in Newnham-on-Severn, followed by a marquee reception on Georgina's family land in Awre, filmed as their wedding film.
Naas Court Farm

Years of commercial and fashion filmmaking, including work with Ruroc, Subaru and Superdry, films featuring Neymar, and BBC Attenborough documentary work in Iceland, bring preparation, reliability and calm under pressure to a wedding day. Schedules shift, locations change and light doesn't wait, and that background helps me handle it without disrupting the day. More on my experience and commercial field notes.
The footprint on the day itself stays small. The Social and Highlights packages are filmed by one filmmaker. For larger packages, James is the principal filmmaker throughout; whether additional support joins depends on the timeline and locations, and may mean an assistant for equipment and setup, or a second filmmaker where important moments happen simultaneously. Super 8 doesn't automatically add crew.

The Social and Highlights packages are normally filmed by James alone. For larger packages, James reviews the timeline, locations and coverage before deciding whether additional support would be useful. That may mean an assistant for equipment and setup, or a second filmmaker where important moments happen simultaneously.
Can you film preparations, the ceremony and reception at different locations?
Often, yes. Travel time and overlapping moments between locations are considered as part of planning the day, once I know the schedule and how far apart the locations are.
Which wedding film package should we choose?
It depends on how much of the day you want preserved. Social and Highlights give a concise edit built around atmosphere; the Feature Film and Director's Cut hold onto more of the ceremony, speeches and story of the day in full.
