Wedding Videographer in the Forest of Dean
Wedding films made quietly across the Forest of Dean, the Wye Valley and surrounding Gloucestershire. This is where I began filming weddings, learning to anticipate what is about to happen without turning the day into a production.
Where I started filming weddings
The Forest of Dean is where I began filming weddings. The work here has taken me from Clearwell Castle to the River Wye, a marquee on family land in Awre and Naas Court Farm near Lydney. Those settings have little in common visually, which is precisely the point: the place matters, but it should never force every wedding into the same kind of film.
Familiarity with the area came from doing the work here, not from setting up a new service area on a map. Knowing the roads, the landscape and how a particular kind of venue tends to move through a day means more attention stays on the people getting married, whatever the setting turns out to be.
Clearwell Castle
A Gothic-style castle in the Forest of Dean, and one of the more distinctive backdrops on this site — filmed as Deano & Lou's Highlights Film. The Forest of Dean is where I started filming weddings, and there's a familiarity to working here that comes from that history.
Royal Lodge on the River Wye
A riverside setting where water and the surrounding landscape do much of the visual work, and the setting for Dave & Stephanie's Highlights Film.
Awre
Dan and Georgina's ceremony took place at St Peter's Church in Newnham-on-Severn, followed by a marquee reception on Georgina's family land in Awre. I was there as both a groomsman and the filmmaker, which made their film especially personal to make.
Naas Court Farm
Near Lydney, Gloucestershire, and the setting for Rich & Hayley's Highlights Film. Rich is one of my closest friends, which carried its own mixture of joy and responsibility into the filming.
Local knowledge, small footprint
Knowing the area helps with preparation, but it does not mean arriving with the film already decided. The setup stays deliberately small, and the aim is to be ready before something happens rather than ask for it to happen again.
Commercial production work contributes technical reliability, not a production mindset: a wedding here is never treated like a commercial set, and unplanned interactions get preserved rather than restaged for the camera.

It isn't intended to replace full ceremony or speech coverage; that's included with applicable packages or available as an option, according to the current Packages page.

Do you film weddings on private land and in marquees?
Yes. Dan and Georgina's wedding was a marquee reception on family land in Awre, a temporary and private setting that didn't need a conventional venue. That kind of setting can be covered the same way any wedding is.
Will filming make our wedding feel staged?
No. The approach is small and observational: stay quiet, anticipate rather than direct, and let the day provide the material.
Can you record the ceremony and speeches?
Yes. Full ceremony and speech coverage is included with the Feature Film and Director's Cut, and can be added to the Social and Highlights options. Extended Highlights can also incorporate ceremony and speech audio within the longer edit.
