Cripps Barn sits in the Coln Valley, an 18th-century barn that's become one of the Cotswolds' better-known wedding venues, and one I've now filmed at more than once.
Faye and Niall's day is captured as an Extended Highlights film, which meant more room than a standard edit: enough to let the ceremony breathe, to keep speeches largely intact rather than cut down to a single line, and to let the reception unfold at something closer to its own pace rather than being compressed into a couple of minutes of music.
The barn itself does a lot of the visual work. Stone walls, timber, the kind of light that changes character completely between an afternoon ceremony and an evening reception. Filming there again meant I already knew where that light would land through the day, which freed me up to spend more attention on the people in the room rather than working out the space from scratch.
The brief for a wedding day doesn't change much between formats: stay out of the way, keep two cameras rolling on anything that won't happen twice, and trust that the material worth keeping is usually not the thing anyone planned.
