Wedding films shaped by the day—not a template
Most of the weddings I've filmed in this stretch of the country happen in barns and manor houses: Cripps Barn in the Coln Valley, Stone Barn near Northleach, Eastington Park's grounds near Stonehouse, buildings and settings built long before anyone thought about where a camera might stand. Stone, timber and open grounds all hold light differently through a day, an afternoon ceremony and an evening reception in the same room can look like two different places, and knowing that in advance changes how I move through the space rather than reacting to it. Guests drift between the ceremony, somewhere outside for drinks, and back in for the reception, and a lot of what makes a film feel true to the day comes from being in the right part of that journey before it happens, not after.
I've returned to Cripps Barn and Eastington Park more than once now, which helps more than people might expect: less time working out how a space moves, more attention on the people in it. None of that means treating a wedding like a production. The couples change, the day changes, and the edit gets shaped around whatever actually happened rather than a fixed template applied on repeat.
Cripps Barn
An 18th-century barn in the Coln Valley that I've now filmed at more than once. The films on this site include both a Highlights and an Extended Highlights example from Cripps Barn: Faye & Niall's Extended Highlights film and Sam & Tabs' Highlights film.

Eastington Park
I've filmed at Eastington Park three times. Two of those weddings are represented here: Gillian and Adam's Extended Highlights film and Susie and Jon's Highlights Film. Returning to the same venue means spending less time working out how the space moves and more time paying attention to the people within it.
Quietly present when it matters
Commercial experience teaches you to make decisions quickly. Weddings teach you when not to interfere. I bring the preparation and technical judgement of larger productions, but the footprint stays deliberately small: one filmmaker, working with a small setup, anticipating rather than directing.
Unplanned interactions get preserved rather than restaged for the camera, and a wedding is never treated like a commercial set. That's what gives the finished film room to feel like the day actually was.
Highlights or Extended Highlights?
A Highlights Film is a concise edit built around the shape and atmosphere of the day rather than a complete record of it — Sam & Tabs at Cripps Barn is a good example of the format. Extended Highlights gives more room to ceremony audio, speeches and the rhythm of the day within a longer edit, as in Faye & Niall's and Sophie & Niall's films.

What is the difference between Highlights and Extended Highlights?
A Highlights Film is a concise, 3-5 minute edit built around the shape and atmosphere of the day. Extended Highlights gives more room to the ceremony, speeches and reception, for a longer, fuller cut.
Will filming make our wedding feel staged?
No. The approach is to stay quiet and anticipate rather than direct, working with a deliberately small setup so the day plays out as it actually happened.
Can you record the ceremony and speeches?
Yes. Full ceremony and speech coverage is included with the Feature Film and Director's Cut, and can be added to the Social and Highlights options. Extended Highlights can also incorporate ceremony and speech audio within the longer edit.
